Press Release Issued for the New “Partner with a Novelist” Web Site

On September 12, 2007 at 12:01 AM, PRWEB released David O’Neal’s first press release describing his new web site, partner with a novelist. The full text of his new press release is posted here.

In addition to the press release, David also posted his latest article, Notable Historical Figures and Patronage. This article can be located in the right hand column as a PDF file for downloading and printing.

David’s purpose for the press release is to identify the distinction between his “partner with a novelist” web site and the dozens, perhaps hundreds or more, of donation web sites that exist across the Internet.

Clearly, he’s asking for money, and he won’t argue with that statement. Where he draws the line is that he is quite clear about who he is and where his literary artist background has taken him. He says, “From time to time, we all get distracted. That’s what happened to me. When that happens, we need help. That’s all I’m doing - just asking for help.”

If you’re a person who loves to read, a person who supports the arts, or a person who’s interested in just offering a helping hand, then click on over to David’s partner with a novelist web site. It’s located here: http://www.partnerwithanovelist.com/.

Literary Arts, Patronage, Historical Figures

On David O’Neal’s new web site, http://www.partnerwithanovelist.com/, he asserts that a number of notable historical figures practiced their day to day art only because of generous gifts from wealthy art patrons. While such knowledge is not commonly known. It nevertheless is an historical fact.

To better support his claim, he researched and wrote a 1,000 word article on the topic entitled, Notable historical Figures and Patronage. In it, he briefly details how da Vinci, Michelangelo, Shakespeare, Mozart, and Beethoven were affected by the patronage system of their day. Some thrived. Some did not.

O’Neal states that from the 14th through the 17th century artists quickly learned that their artistic career and their upward social mobility depended entirely upon their involvement in a growing network of patronage relationships.

The purpose of O’Neal’s “partner with a novelist” program is to prototype a model for how literary patronage might flourish to benefit authors in the Internet Age, and his merging of the two divergent concepts is somewhat unique.

Learn How-To Partner with a Novelist

As you can see, I’ve been distracted a lot over the past six months or so, and the emotional energy has been high to create something that satisfies both me and my readers. I have a new web site that’s been finished for about 30 minutes now.

The new web site is at http://www.partnerwithanovelist.com/. It’s purpose is to close the gap between those who love reading good fiction and an author who spends his life creatibg it. The partnering program involves a small or perhaps generous commitment from the partner, and then I share all of my work with them at no charge, plus I’ll keep them updated on the progress of my new work.

In addition to bringing more members into my extended reader family, the “partner with a novelist” program is a fund raising vehicle to help me soften the lean times between literary paydays. The web site is lengthy and full of details that most people don’t usually discover about the authors they read.

This idea is somewhat patterned after the patronage systems of the old world, where those who most love and appreciate the arts, actually got involved in supporting them, especially of doing that for their favorite artists. I felt that spirit of support and appreciation was still alive in today’s world. This web site is also intended to create support for the arts, and especially for me when times are tight, and to share the idea with other literary artists.
